we mistake religious books as god trying
to reveal his nature
as if that were remotely possible.
god is permanently, infinitely ineffable.

angels, fires, resurrections, demons, and caves
the stories of moses, jesus, paul, muhammad
and even smith
are some of the best in literature

so when you pick up a bible
or quran
or the book of mormon
‘tis not to be read as a book of truth claims
but a play
composed by god
acted in the flesh
emblazoned in the mind.

contradiction isn’t flaw.
what need,
does christopher nolan have,
to make tenet and interstellar
compatible with one another?
they are different stories
for a different audience
at a different time

all is a play
it’s of no use trying to zoom in
and pick apart the scenes
like trying to zoom in on a TV image—
all you’ll get are meaningless pixels.
stories,
like all art,
are wholes,
and cannot be sold for parts.

all is theater.
